July 4th in Chicago (conclusion)
|
|
Immediately after the play, the team members in the audience and
performers enter the crowd and begin asking their reaction to the
presentation. They learn something about the people and offer to pray
for them. Many accept. |
It's very powerful and touching to see these kids boldly step out.
Instead of destroying their own lives with drugs and sex, they
reach out to improve and redeem the lives of others. |
|
|
These young people were not simply loaded up into a van and thrust
upon the unsuspecting public. Their week of outreach was preceded by an
equal week of prayer, discipleship training and faith formation. They
spent daily time in the Bible and group worship and praise before the
Lord, as well as preparing their performances to take on the road. |
Even YWAM's six-month schools follow this format of a
first half spent in training and lecture, followed by the second half
of outreach. After having this kind of faith sharing experience the
everyday world doesn't look the same anymore. |

It makes you wonder how we can bring Jesus more into the world we
operate in. You have experienced God using you to break down spiritual
walls and reach into people's hearts. You want to keep doing it. That is what life in the Holy Spirit is all about. |
That is why we continue to work toward unity in the Body of Christ,
encouraging all believers to “Go ye into all nations and share the Good
News.” That includes our nation. On a weekend celebrating one Nation
under God, we brought God back to the party. “O’er the land of the
free, and the home of the brave.” |
