To Know God and Make Him Known

Discipleship Training Schools (DTS)

The purpose of a DTS is to give students the equipment to be able to serve God: to give them tools for living a Christian life that makes a difference and to build in them Christian character. To know God and learn how to make Him known has been the YWAM motto for over 50 years. The experience of living together, learning from people who are actually walking in faith and working in some vocation of service to the Lord accelerates the learning process. Each school includes a cross-cultural experience,  that trains students to share the gospel in a different culture. The bottom line is always to make missionaries who will share their faith in everyday life, whether in the secular workplace or on the foreign field.

Our Kerygma DTS also has an ecumenical component, teaching students to learn to build bridges of unity between the Catholic World and other Christian faith expressions. DTS participants come for a wide range of personal reasons. Some can be facing a life crisis that requires a deeper encounter with God, others may be seeking a lifelong call or new vocation direction, and for others it may simply be to have a gap year experience.

Whatever the reason, a DTS is an experience that deepens the call of God in lives and prepares participants to find their place in reaching the world for Christ.  See our website for upcoming schools or call for more information. Singles and families in all stages of life are welcome. The DTS experience is a prerequisite for participation in any of the many other YWAM schools or University of the Nations degree programs.
