Father Robert T. Kajoh, MSP, was born on October 30th in Suleja, Nigeria. Very early in life as a young boy, Father Kajoh was always fascinated by the actions of the priest on the altar. Not long afterward, he joined the altar servers and was numbered among the privileged few who served the priest. This seed of desire for the priesthood began to grow as a result of Father Kajoh's role as an altar server and he was further nurtured by a strong family prayer at home. His friendship with the Irish missionary priest who served as pastor for many years at his local parish further awakened in him a strong attraction to the missionary priesthood.
Fr. Kajoh's priestly journey commenced on October 28, 1992 with spiritual and human formation and later continued with a college level program in philosophy and later on theology, moderated by the Pontifical Urban University of Rome. Having fulfilled the requisite spiritual, human and academic formation necessary before ordination to the priesthood, Fr. Kajoh was ordained as a priest on July 7, 2001 by Archbishop Joseph A. Fiorenza, DD of the archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.
His assignments right after ordination took him to St. Thomas' Parish, Kano, Nigeria where he served as Acting Pastor for a short time and eventually as parochial vicar. Later on, he was moved to the cathedral parish of the same diocese and the same city, Our Lady of Fatima (CLF) where he served as one of two parochial vicars; all lasting between September 2001 and October 2002. On November 26th of the same year, Fr. Kajoh began a ministry that lasted one year at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, Bwari, in the archdiocese of Abuja, Nigeria.
On December 1, 2003, Fr. Robert joined the staff of the mission office of the Missionary Society of St. Paul in Houston, Texas as associate director. This assignment lasted two years. On January 6, 2006, Fr. Kajoh became a member of the pastoral team at St. Bartholomew's parish, Yonkers, New York while still serving as a regional associate director of the mission office. Barely less than two years later by an invitation from the diocese of Austin, the Missionary Society of St. Paul transferred Fr. Kajoh to the pastoral care of two parishes, Our Lady of Lourdes, Gatesville and St. Thomas' parish, Hamilton, between July 2007 - July 2009. On July 1, 2009 a new chapter commenced yet again for Fr. Kajoh, as pastor of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church (SPN), Houston, TX.
Father Kajoh was installed as Pastor of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Houston, Texas, on September 27, 2009.
