To Know God and Make Him Known

Life in the Spirit Conferences

Do you as a Catholic truly know God? Can you talk to him like a Father? Do you have hurts that need to come forward and be dealt with? The Holy Spirit should be directing your life, giving you peace and power.

Kerygma Texas helps to organize Life in the Spirit Conferences, presented in a parish. They allow you to slow down for a weekend and dig deeper into God. This parish mission runs from Friday night through Saturday afternoon.  During this weekend your eyes and heart will be opened to a new relationship with Christ. Increase your understanding of prayer and intercession, prophecy, discernment and spiritual direction. Experience God's love and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Past Conferences:

 April 24-26, 2009 Flint, TX

Our first Life in the Spirit was very ecumenical. The keynote was Deacon Alex Jones, a former Pentecostal Pastor from Detroit. He's still pentecostal

and very relevant to Protest333ants and Catholics. Alex was flanked by Fr. Tim Kelly, local fitness club owner Cune Pena, Fr. Ariel Cortes and YWAMers Katherine Ewing and Dr. Willis Lawton. Charlotte Krusi brought her prophetic prayer art ministry. We were breaking ground in evangelization and linking believers from different churches.

Deacon Alex is always smooth and polished. You want to hear more.  We had music by local worship leaders and special music by long time Christian artist Kelly Willard on Saturday.

Our Bishop Alvaro Corrada admits that the Holy Spirit is not a fixed method. We must be open to His direction and leading. That is why our Life in the Spirit Conferences are new every year with new topics and session titles. 2010's Conference brought in a Charismatic priest, Fr. Bob Hogan from San Antonio and the National Charismatic Service Committee. Fr. Bob has a more youthful style and shared on “Who I Am in Christ.” We ventured out a little more involving the attendees in experiencing the Holy Spirit. Also featured were Deacon Gary Trevino from St. Andrews in Lufkin and Josh Langer, Director of the YWAM School of Worship in Lindale. Josh also provided music for the conference.

2011 was a breakthrough conference. Fr. Bob Faricy and his co-teacher, Cheryl Nguyen brought their bold Spirit filled ministry.  They got right down to business seeing that all present asked God for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, speaking in tongues. They left no stragglers, but patiently waited as we all entered into Charismatic Prayer. This Conference  featured two speakers, who worked as a team to have a powerful impact. There were group participation exercises at each session, including the Healing Mass which began the conference on Thursday night.

Life in the Spirit is a powerful way to impact a group of adults that are ready and open for the Holy Spirit in their lives. We will continue to seek for new ways to expand the East Texas Charismatic Renewal through these life changing weekends.
