To Know God and Make Him Known

What makes it different on a missions outreach?
3.We were only there six days, then we left to our safe regular world that doesn't have homeless people, Hare Krishna temples or Little India a half a mile away.
What makes it different on a missions outreach?
4.We prayed and prepared our hearts to go out and minister. Nothing else.
Christians don't want to be bothered. "Evangelization is NOT something that you do in your everyday life. That's for missionaries.
That's something you do in Mexico or India."
"Not in MY state. Not in MY town. Not in MY neighborhood. We don't even talk to our neighbors."
Taking these kids to Chicago removes them from everything normal. It allows them to see God's compassion for hurting people. It gives kids a chance to break out of their selfish world of Facebook, TV, text messaging and mp3 players, to pay attention to a world that needs Jesus.
Hopefully they'll be able to do this at home too. Why can't we? Why can't we go out once a week and minister to the homeless? They're everywhere. People in every town need to know God still cares. Not just Chicago.

At mass Friday morning the responsorial Psalm was, “Go out to all the world and tell the Good News.”
We're showing these kids, and ourselves, that its really not so hard to GO. Will you help us show more and more people they can do the same?
