What makes it different on a missions outreach?
3.We were only there six days, then we left to our safe regular world
that doesn't have homeless people, Hare Krishna temples or Little India
a half a mile away. |
What makes it different on a missions outreach?
4.We prayed and prepared our hearts to go out and minister. Nothing else. |

Christians don't want to be bothered. "Evangelization is NOT
something that you do in your everyday life. That's for missionaries.
That's something you do in Mexico or India." |
"Not in MY state. Not in MY
town. Not in MY neighborhood. We don't even talk to our neighbors." |

Taking these kids to Chicago removes them from everything normal.
It allows them to see God's compassion for hurting people. It gives
kids a chance to break out of their selfish world of Facebook, TV, text
messaging and mp3 players, to pay attention to a world that needs Jesus. |
Hopefully they'll be able to do this at home too. Why can't we? Why
can't we go out once a week and minister to the homeless? They're
everywhere. People in every town need to know God still cares. Not just
Chicago. |

At mass Friday morning the responsorial Psalm was, “Go out to all
the world and tell the Good News.” |
We're showing these kids, and
ourselves, that its really not so hard to GO. Will you help us show
more and more people they can do the same?
